"Baby Sleep Consultant"

This is the first time that I have ever heard of this term. But it also reminds me that that there is almost no limit to the kinds of skills that a person can have. A baby sleep consultant helps babies sleep more better, more comfortably and through the night. This is a welcomed benefit to new parents who have babies who cry throughout the night. And apparently this service is more popular than I thought!

This is but yet another example of one's skill(s). People have talents that they probably never thought of as such. I read somewhere that if you can't make a living doing what you love to do then you are doing it wrong!

You may have a skill and/or talent but you probably never thought of it as a skill or talent. There are still people that make furniture by hand even though we have furniture that is massed produced and these individual furniture makers are making enough of an income to live on and beyond! Let's say that you have a talent for making furniture and you want to be able to make a living doing that. It may be hard to believe but there are still a lot of people (and potential clients) that are out there who still buy furniture from independent furniture makers. The more popular your work gets the more "word of mouth" spreads and the more potential customers you will have.

But you can do even more! You could write a book about furniture making, you could create a newsletter about furniture making and you could even start a podcast about furniture-making. You could teach a class about furniture making too! There are a lot of possible income opportunities other than the most obvious.

You may not think that you have a skill or talent- but you probably do!

Other Sources Of Money?

I have just posted to my Unclaimed Money Blog about how the state of Louisiana has over $300 million in unclaimed money! They are working hard to process as many claims as possible because they want as many people to have the additional money for the holiday season. It's not just the fact that they would like as much people that are eligible to claim this money be able to claim the money but more money spent in the state means more money that is paid in state taxes - so everybody benefits!

Louisiana isn't the only state that has unclaimed money. My own state of Pennsylvania publishes a listing of people that are due unclaimed money. The last time this list was over 10 pages long!

What is unclaimed money? It is simply that - money that hasn't been claimed. For example forgotten bank accounts, insurance payments and payments to heirs are just a few of the different types of unclaimed money out there.

If you think that you may not be eligible to claim any of this "free" money then you should know that in Louisiana for example every 1 in 6 people have unclaimed money waiting for them to claim!

The Wealthiest Man In The World Is................

The wealthiest man in the world is the Bill Gates, cofounder of Microsoft, who, it is estimated, has over one hundred billion dollars. Bill started by writing versions of the programming language BASIC for home computers. If he distributed his wealth among all Americans, we'd each get over $400. If Bill saw a $100 bill on the floor, it would not be worth his time to pick it up. Better to stay focused on business because Bill makes $523 per second.

Here Is Another Thing That A 3D Artist Can Do!

I have mentioned before about how much I like 3d graphics and creating them. I was visiting one of my 3d graphics-related sites and there was a post about a 3d artist that designs album and CD covers for grammy-winning artists!

Of course the question comes up as to how one can get such work and the answer is that you have to let them (your potential clients) know that you are out there and open and ready for business.

How do you do that? You set up a website and show off your work! Add pictures of your 3d work onto your website. Now there are some people that are concerned about others "stealing" their artwork and quite honestly speaking the advice is that if you don't want your work "stolen" then you shouldn't put it online at all. There are some precautions that you can take. You could watermark your image before you put it online or you could put up some generic copies of your work.

But the most important thing is to get started!

The sooner you get started the sooner more people will know about you and your work!

And of course it goes without saying this is the kind of work that you can do from home!

Movie Review - Beauty Shop

I saw this movie for the first time last week. Here is a link to more information about the movie itself.

What I was particularly interested in was how she got the money to start her own beauty shop.

First I should tell you a little bit about the movie in case you haven't seen it yet. Queen Latifa plays a woman who works at a hair salon who gets fed up with her boss (and his ways) and quits.

I do like the lines when she's saying how she wants to work for herself and not for someone else.

So she quits her job and then goes to the bank to get a business loan. Of course she doesn't qualify to get a loan. And as in real life in order to get a business loan you do have to have some type of collateral. And according to the movie you also have to have a good credit rating as well. I won't give the whole story away but she does manage to get a small business loan and she gets a shop using a smaller amount of money. Then comes the work of fixing up her shop and dealing with the people that work for her. (Another intersting thing as far as beauty shops are concerned is that as the owner you can "rent" out your booths to stylists).

Of course one of the things I found quite interesting about the movie was her having to deal with the inspections guy which you will have to deal with in real life when you are starting a business that has to do with opening a shop and adhering to the rules of licenses and inspections.

Of course the fact that she does know her job she get clients. Some of her clents were from her old job and she got new clients as well.

Personally I liked the movie and was very surprised by Alica Silverstone!

But how does this compare in real life?

Many people are fed up with their bosses and there are many people that want to start their own business. Looking at this movie will show you that number one it does involve a lot of work - not to mention staying up on code with licenses and inspections. I also liked the scene where she was applying for a business loan. To me it showed that a lot of people just don't know what they have to have BEFORE they go to a bank to apply for a busines loan. (So if you are thinking about applying for a business loan you should do some homework beforehand before you actually go to a bank to apply for a business loan.)

The movie also showed that there is a lot of work involved in starting your own business especially when you are starting your business outside your home. There are lots of things (and expenses) that you have to consider - It is called "overhead"

In the end her beauty shop was still going strong!

Blog Turned Into A Book!

Here is just another good example of never knowing where opportunities lie........

Another blog has been turned into a book and the book is now selling on Amazon.com. The author of the blog (and now the book) has appeared on TV!

This is just yet another example of how you never know where your financial opportunities will come from!

I'm sure that most of you are familiar with what blogs are and some of you may have an online blog of your own!

Simply speaking the blog that was mentioned above was a simple blog that a woman started and it started to become very popular. With that popularity came a book deal and now another blogger has been added to the list of "published" authors!

The general practice of a book deal involves you getting an advance for your book which is a financial benefit that was associated with having a blog.

Of course I'm sure this person started her blog without even thinking that she could possibly get a book deal out of it but it just goes to show you that you never know where your financial opportunities may be coming from!

There Are More Opportunities Out There Than You May Think!

On a previous post I talked about podcasting which involved recording your voice and then uploading it to your podcast so that it would be a part of your podcast.

Here is another related opportunity. You know that there are still open casting calls out there? News and information about open casting calls are on the internet too and if you know the right sites to go to then you can find out about the latest casting calls.

With the popularity of animated movies comes the opportunity for "voice" actors and I have seen open casting calls from film studios and productions sending notices about open casting calls for voice actors. Now some of these roles don't pay anything but some of them do!

The lastest casting call that I have seen was a paying, non-union role that is paying over $100 for a voice over actor. Sometimes the audition process can even involve you reading from an already made script and submitting your reading via email or their website. Once you have the information about the audition and have a copy of the script excerpt all you have to do is record yourself reading the script and then upload it per their instructions.

I know that it can be hard and sometimes even frustrating for those that want to go into show business but the more opportunities that you can take advantage of the more better for your and your career.

I also realize that this doesn't fall under the "working from home" category but it does fall under the "being able to make an income" category and lets face it - there are still a lot of people that want the security of being able to work for someone else rather than starting a business of their own.

That's not to say that actors can't have a business of their own. Many do! Big stars generate income from other sources besides their acting careers. The start clothing lines, create perfumes, they start their own production companies and they even write books.

So just because you have decided that you want to become an actor, that doesn't mean that acting could be your only source of income. Besides many actors have said that they themselves are the product and they look at it as a business - that they are in charge of - so in a way they are working for themselves.

How About Starting Your Own Podcast?

Starting your own podcast may be easier than you think!

For example, besides having my own Internet Station, I'm also working on creating my own podcast. Actually I have already created the basic podcast now what's left for me to do is to decide what kind of podcast I want to have and what kind of content that I want to put in it.

You can start your own podcast for free at a couple of websites that will let you upload, store and broadcast (or provide a link to your podcast) your podcast for free. There are also lots of sites where you can download content in mp3 format that you can add to your podcast. * - However there may be a problem if you want to add music that is copyrighted by someone else. On some of the free podcast sites you won't be able to do that but that still leaves a lot of content that you CAN add to your podcast!

Starting your own podcast can be as simple as recording what you want to say and converting that into a mp3 format. Most of the "free" content that is available for your podcast is already in mp3 format and even if it wasn't you can download one of the many conversion programs so you can convert your sound file to a mp3 format.

Using myself as an example, I have a sound program called Cool Edit Pro that lets me record and save that recording into a mp3 format. If you like you could try one of the free sound conversion programs that are available over the internet just in case you don't want to pay for the Cool Edit Pro program. However Cool Edit Pro was well worth the cost because I can do so many things with this program! I can do a lot of nice production work such as adding background music, adding sound effects and so much more.

After I have recorded my content into a mp3 format then its just a simple thing of uploading that file to my podcast page and storage area - and there you have it - your very own podcast!

Now getting back to you and how starting your own podcast can be a great way to start your own working from home business - just think of your podcast as your very own version of an audio blog! Whatever you can blog about you can probably podcast about.

How do you make money with your podcast? How about adding advertisements? That is exactly what radio stations (and tv stations for that matter) have been doing since they were started.

Let's say for example that you wanted to start a business using your very own podcast. Well what kind of business would you want to start in the first place? What is your passion? What is your dream job?

Let's say that you are a stay-at-home mom and you want to earn some extra money. In previous posts I have mentioned that one could start a newsletter specifically geared towards single mothers. Just think how much more better (and fun) it would be if you had a podcast! You could include interviews with other single mothers. You could add your own "words of wisdom" - sort of comparable to having your own column only it would be in the spoken word and not the written word. In fact it would be most beneficial to you if you do both - have both the podcast and the newsletter!

Next would be getting advertisers to advertise on your podcast. You will have to come up with a "rate" sheet and schedule so that you will know what to charge your advertisers. What kind of advertisers would be interested in advertising on your podcast? What about those advertisers whose products are specifically geared to stay-at-home moms?

You can also have a website version of your podcast so that you can add Google's Adsense ads to your site.

You could also do reviews of certain products - giving them the "thumbs up" or "thumbs down" review. What you can add to your podcast is only limited by your imagination!

Reviewing "Work At Home" Opportunities

I have been getting requests to review "work at home" opportunities and to be perfectly honest with all of you I haven't seen that many that I would even recommend let alone try for myself.

Adsense is a great way to be able to make money from home but one of the things that you have to understand about adsense is that you just can not make a site or blog, put adsense ads on it and expect to make a lot of money without putting in the work on your site. Are there adsense "millionaires" out there? Here is a link to a blog post about just how much money people have been making with adsense.

There are a couple of other affiliated-programs out there that look promising as well. But just like with adsense you just can't "slap" together a website or blog and then expect the money to just come rolling in!

I also had the chance to check out a few "survey" programs - where you get paid for answering surveys online. With the except of one online survey program, I haven't found any others worth mentioning!

There are a few companies that employ people to work from their homes that I consider to be quite legitimate. But like any other job where you work for someone else, the income that you earn will be limited.

Suffice it to say that I am a big advocate of one starting their own business that they can work from home. Almost everyone has a talent that they could put to good use to start a business that they can do working from home.

Email Consultant

I saw this term and just had to investigate it further.

Here is a job opening for an email consultant:

Description

This consultant will be a member of the team managing the Commonwealths email environment. The consultants primary responsibilities include on-going administration of the MS Exchange Environment, Tier 2 support, backups and tape rotation. Additional Comments * The position requires the consultant to work both first and second shift on a two-week rotation. Must live within commuting distance of Harrisburg. Active Directory + MS Exchange combined experience. MS Windows Server/MCSE 2003 big bonus as they are upgrading the environment. Candidate will be joining an Elite MS Professional team supporting.

Requirements:

The required skills and background are: MCSE 2000 or 2003. Minimum of 5 years of IT experience. Two years of experience in administering large Active Directory environment with multiple sites using Windows 2000 or 2003 Server. Two years of hands-on experience in administering large Exchange 2000 or 2003 environments. Experience with DNS and WINS in large environments. Additional beneficial skills include: Experience in MOM, Commvault, Sybaris Antigen and Blackberry. Experience with IBM and Dell server hardware and configuration.

Of course being an email consultant doesn't have to be so complicated as the above "duties" state. You could simply be the one in charge of answering a company's (or individual's) email.

A lot of websites have built up a subsribers' list and simply have more subscribers than they can handle and they need someone to take over the responsibility. I also saw some information about how an email consultant was needed to help go through a site's email inblox just to be able to distinguish their spam mail from legitimate business mail.

It just goes to show you that there are all types of opportunities out there for people.

A Very Scary Thing!

It may be a very scary thing to think that one could actually be able to work from home and earn a living from it. Yet people are doing it everyday!

What makes it even more "scary" is that one can be able to work from home legitimately!

If you have a product or service to sell and you set up a website or blog then that is the start of your business!

The next hurdle is being able to find a way to be able to receive your payments. One of the most easiest ways is to use Paypal. However be advised that you have to have a bank account in order to be able receive payments via Paypal. There is also a limit on how much money you can receive if you use the "personal" Paypal option. When you upgrade your Paypal account you will then be able to access your full payments. Paypal does charge additional fees when you upgrade to this option.

Now what if you don't have a bank account (or you don't want to give your bank information) then there is still the option of being able to receive your payments by regular check. The one thing that I would suggest though is that you get a professional address for your business so that you don't have to give out your home address.

There are some auctions on Ebay where the option to pay is in check form and there are still people that receive their payments using only this option.

Of course there are "third-party" payment options that are also available but you have to check out these options very carefully. Make sure that they are legitimate and if you have your doubts about them then don't use them!

Yes, being able to work from home can seem to be a very scary thing to someone who has not done it before but you have to realize that people are doing it everyday!

Starting Your Own Resume Typing Business?

I had previously posted about the possibility of starting one's own resume typing business but I was reminded of it again yesterday when one of my previous clients was in a pinch!

You see they wanted to apply for a job opening that they had heard about but the problem was that they could only apply for the position at the company's website. Unfortunately this job applicant didn't have a computer of their own and even then they weren't that proficient with using one. So this person was kind of in a bind.

They had their resume typed up and took it to a printing shop to have copies made of it. However the person needed to submit their resume online and that was a service that the printing shop did not provide.

So what I did was that I had to type the resume all over again because the company's website only provided for transferring the resume (actually it involved uploading the resume) to their site and I had to get this person's resume into my computer before I could transfer it to the company's website. (Personally I just think that this makes it so much more complicated than just being able to submit your resume in person).

So as I was typing the resume it occurred to me that there is still a need for such a service. You have to remember that not everyone has a computer and even then while some people do have their own computer they either don't want to be bothered with typing their own resume or they just don't know how - and that is where you and your business come in!

If you have never typed a resume before (possible thinking that you couldn't start this kind of business because you never did it before) you can always learn! If your computer has such a program like Microsoft Word or WordPerfect already installed then you can open those programs and use one of their resume-like templates. There are even books in the library and other software programs dedicated especially to resumes!

Clients - Let's Face It! Some Of Them Are Cheap!

I could tell you a lot of stories from personal experience about so-called clients that wanted me to do work for them for less than what I charge! But I'm going to use that experience to warn you!

I once heard Suze Orman say "Don't Put Yourself On Sale!" She was talking about this in a seminar where she talked about how women would be so accomodating by providing free work. Now this isn't just limited to women - it is for anyone thinking about starting a business of their own - whether you want to work from home or start your own business period!

Number 1 - whether you are providing a service or a product do some research online and find out what similar people are charging. That way you will know that the amount that you are charging for your product or services is a fair amount to charge - no matter what a potential client tries to say to convince you otherwise.

There is the question of when one is just starting out that shouldn't they do some work on a volunteer or reduced-price kind of thing. To get your foot in the door you may want to start off doing it this way because it does provide you with publicity and good practice skills but don't do it to the point of being taken advantage of.

It just comes down to stating your price and remaining firm!

A Person Of Many Talents...................

Doing grant research involves doing a lot of detailed work. So it's nice to be able to do something else as well. Here you see a render of myself (sort-of-LOL!) that I made myself using DazStudio! It's a pretty good likeness of me except I haven't included my glasses but the hair is just about right! I have taken this render of myself and have used it as my avatar on a lot of other sites that I belong to. Its just a good enough picture to be not of me exactly but very close! A lot of people would like to have the same kind of picture of themselves so that they can use them as avatars or on their website.

I was thinking that this would be a very good business to go into. Now I'm not an expert at 3d design but I do have an interest in it and I'm still learning more about it by doing it.

Did you know that the program that I made this render with was a free download! If I would have bought the program it would cost over $200! And even then if I had bought the program and was able to get some clients who wanted me to do renders of them - I could deduct the cost of the software because I used it in my work.

I also talk about on my consultation page about how you can take programs that are already installed on your computer and start a business of your own using the program(s).

There are many people that have more than one talent and you may be one of them. Something that is of interest to you but you don't think that you could start a business with - you would be sadly mistaken!

Just take note of what I was talking about above. Do you think that that is a good picture? Do you think that others would be interested in having a 3D render of themselves that they could use for..........whatever? Do you think enough people would be interested so that one could start their own business just doing this? And who would be able to start a business like this? That would be someone - maybe even a student - who was interested in 3d design and is doing it now but didn't think that they could earn money from doing it.

This applies to you too? Is there a talent that you have?

Have You Ever Been Jealous Of Someone's Lifestyle Or Career?

Have you ever been jealous of someone else's lifestyle or career? Are you jealous of Bill Gates and his wealth? Are you jealous of Oprah Winfrey and her wealth?

I read a very informative article that says that you should turn this jealousy into inspiration and motivation!

I was watching this tv segment with Tyler Perry who has become very successful at writing and producing movies. I also saw his beautiful house. He says he shows his house not to brag but to show how its possible to achieve one's own dreams!

Kimora Lee Simmons of "Life In The Fab Lane" has also said the same thing in that she hopes that others see her success and hope that they get inspired by it.

I'm looking at television and seeing all the promos and commercials and the thing that is going through my mind is that these people are doing things that they love to do! You have Martha Stewart doing a segment on weddings and I remember the beginnings of Martha Stewart's career - she has a love of home-making and all things related to it......

So the next time you see someone else's career or lifestyle and start to get jealous of them - Don't! Get Inspired! Get Motivated! And Get Started On Making Your Own Career And Live The Life that YOU want!

Thinking About Buying And Selling On Ebay? - Want More Help In Learning More About Ebay?

I have this reminder on my calendar to remind me to listen to an Ebay radio show that comes on weekly. You can listen to it live by clicking here. You can also listen to the archives by clicking here.

HOW DO I CALL IN?

877-474-3302 (877-GRIFF02)

001-858-678-8958 (when dialing in from outside the US and Canada)

Or if you are using Skype call User ID ASKGRIFF

(if Skyping a call, use a headset or Skype device. Don't use your computer's built in speakers and microphone!)

So if you want to learn more about how to build your Ebay "empire" this radio show would be a very good place to start!

Ebay also has various message boards where you can interact with other ebay buyers and sellers, ask questions and get answers to all of your Ebay questions!

Working From Home - Another Reason Why!

GM Workers Face Possible Strike!

It really is a sad thing when your job security is dependent on someone or something else. In this case it being the company that you work for.

Such was not the case in the past where when you had a job you would have that same job until you retired.

The one interesting thing about this is if the workers do go on strike they will receive $200 a week in "strike" pay - that's the first time I have ever heard of someone being paid to be on strike. But since this is such a big union the funds to be able to pay such a salary is probably coming out of the membership dues that the workers are paying to the union.

What Is Your Purpose In Life?

I found another great article. This one is about finding out what your purpose in life is.

What Does It Really Take To Be Making 6 Figures As A Service Professional?

Here is an article that I found very interesting about giving advice for those that want to provide a profession service. Be prepared because this article is quite long but it is well worth the read!

It has to take more than just declaring that you are a professional. You have to do the work that is involved with being able to maintain and grow your own business. If you are starting your business alone you will find that you will be wearing many "hats". You will also have to maintain a balance between your professional life and your personal life as well.

So be sure to read the article mentioned above because it provides some very good tips for those that want to be professional.

"My Area Has More People Than Jobs......"

"My area has more people than jobs...."

I have seen this posted many, many times and as someone that is a Dream Job Consultant, the first thing that crosses my mind is that there is a job opportunity even in that!

The first thing I think about when I see someone who has posted this kind of message is that this person either has access to their own computer or they have access to another person's computer. Now there are limitations when you have to work with someone else's computer but if you are using your own computer then you have a LOT that you can work with!

Number 1 you could start a free blog on Blogger.com and use your blog to talk about the issue of there being no jobs in your area. Once you have added a few entries to your blog then you can apply for adsense and then you can start to earn money and get paid for having advertisements that people click on on your blog!

But there is an even bigger picture here. Since this will be YOUR blog that means that you have control over it. You can post / blog about the issues that affect your area. You can think of this as your blog being your own newspaper or even publishing company! You are the reporter. You are the owner of your blog and you are the editor of your blog!

Where does the money come from? Well adsense is a great option to start out with first because they already have advertisers ready for your blog. This is much more easier than going out and soliciting your own direct advertisers. But once you have adsense ads on your blog you can also now start to solicit your own advertisers!

Visit The Adsense Consultant's Blog to find out more about the adsense program and to take a look at what some others had made using adsense.

But even with the above that doesn't stop your opportunities. You can also visit The Celebrity Blog List and read about Perez Hilton - a man who started his own blog and now has his own tv show!

There is lots that you can do with a blog to help it make money for you!

Take the fact that there are more people than jobs in your area and turn that into an opportunity for you - and hopefully for the rest of your community!

Do You Have An Interest In 3d?

Here is an interesting affiliate program.

Get 3D Models, 3D Content, and 3D Software at DAZ3D!

Daz3d is a site that has to do with 3d designing. They have their own program call DazStudio which lets you do a lot with Poser characters. For a time this program was available for free.

If you become a member (membership is free) you can also apply to be one of their affiliates. Once you have been approved you can paste the affiliate codes onto your site. However unlike the adsense program you have to make $100 during the quarter (not monthly like adsense) before you can have your payment paid to you via Paypal. You also have the option to use the earnings for "store credit" in order to buy things at Daz's website.

So if you're into 3d designing this would be a good opportunity for you to get some added income.

By the way, you can see my 3 designs by clicking here. I'm not ready for my first animated short but I have come a long way from Poser 1!

Do You Have A Computer?

Never underestimate or overlook what one already has right under their own nose!

One of the clients that I have is someone that I find the cheapest airfares for. I find the information for them and then print it out and give them a copy so that they will have a hardcopy of the information.

Now on the surface this may not seem like much but again I say never underestimate or overlook what one already has right under their nose!

You would think that with all the people that have computers at home (or at work) there wouldn't be a need for a service such as finding the cheapest airline flights - but there is! There are people that don't have a computer, they may have a computer but not use it for such things or they just don't want to go through the hassle of finding the information themselves - for whatever reason - there is still a market for this kind of service.

If you know your way around a computer and you know your way around the internet then this is one of the services that you could provide.

How does a person with a felony find a job after he has served his time?

How does a person with a felony find a job after he has served his time?

One of the best places to find an answer to this question would be at Wiki.

It may be hard for a convicted felon to find a job once he is out of jail - but it is not impossible.

Some of the solutions include starting one's own business or even applying with someone who is just starting their own business. There are also some community programs that may be availabe in your area that have special programs that help with finding job opportunities. Such programs are funded by grant programs.

A Blog Consultant!

A Blog Consultant

I was visiting one blog and that led to another blog which is by a Blog Consultant! He lives in the UK and what struck me about his blog was that he talked about how he secured a position to teach a blogging course in the UK.

According to his blog the UK businesses haven't taken much to blogging like the US has taken to it.

It just reminded me of how one's career can branch out into so many other opportunities!

5 Ways To Make Money Without Selling Your Body

5 Ways To Make Money Without Selling Your Body

Interesting title for a blog post so I just had to read it! Even though some of the ideas have already been mentioned in this (and other) blog(s), I think the title was well worth mentioning!

"Can I Sit In Front Of My Computer And Make Money Online?"

"Can I Sit In Front Of My Computer And Earn Money Online?"

This is a very interesting (and it is becoming a more frequent) question! In a word the answer is Yes - however there are many, many variables here!

Answering this question quite literally you could sit in front of your computer, have a webcam and charge people for being able to view you - of course that is not everyone's "cup of tea" Webcam models are making a LOT of money online and I will leave a "tag" link at the bottom of this blog entry so that you can see some of the past posts that I have made concerning webcam models. But then complications arise because how are you going to accept payment? Paypal is very popular but Paypal will not accept transactions of a "sexual" nature. But there are other ways to accept payment simply because there are so many webcam models online who are accepting payments electronically. And like I mentioned before, webcam models are making a lot of money simply by having a webcam and a way to accept payments.

You can take something that interests you and start either a webpage or a blog. However it will take some time before you can raise interest in your site and the sooner you raise interest will depend on how much work you put into building up your site. You can sell a product, sell a service or accept advertising on your site. With the later you site has to have a good reputation before you even start to approach possible advertisers or sponsors. If you have a pagerank "widget" on your site and your pagerank is high you may get advertisers coming to you! (This has happened to some of those that have sites with a high page ranking). If you sign up for and use Google's Adsense program you won't have to go seeking advertisers because they will already be there for you. Here is a link to a blog post about how much some people have been earning with adsense:

Just How Much Money Are People Making With Adsense?

However even being a part of adsense requires work and effort on your part. You have to earn at least $100 during the month before you will be issued a payment. If you don't make $100 during one month then your earnings will be rolled over into the next month and so on until you have earned a total of at least $100 - then you will be issued a payment by the end of the next month.

So basically the answer to the question "Can I Sit In Front Of My Computer And Make Money Online?" is Yes - BUT it will require work on your part!

More Job Openings Than Job Seekers

Here is a link to an online AOL-related article about jobs that are in high demand. There are more openings for these kinds of jobs than there are people that are applying for them.

Some of the careers listed require you to work for a company but some of the careers listed allow you to be able to work on your own or on a freelance basis.

My Internet Radio Station - LaMott, PA!

LaMott Radio!

Yesterday I uploaded some new music to my LaMott Radio station and it occurred to me that I haven't "tweaked" my station in a while!

The most recent piece of music was sent to me by the A & R rep of an independent music label. I have a policy that states that all music submitted for review has to be sent via regular mail. That way I can review the material and if the song meets in with the station's format then I will add it to the playlist and all the materials submitted will be kept on file.

I have talked about my internet radio station before and I mentioned all the different ways that one could use their own internet station to help them make money.

Now since my internet station is on Live365.com, I cannot accept commercial advertisements. But I can accept advertising on the station's web page!

I do have a radio station background because I worked as a DJ for many years and I like the thought of having my own Internet Radio station and one of the best reasons for this is that the internet station can be heard from all over the world! That means more listeners and hopefully more of an incentive for more advertisers to advertise!

So far I have gotten a lot of positive responses about the station and its format which is a combination of local news about the area and romantic music.

Now you may be wondering just how hard it would be to have one's own internet station. Probably one of the hardest things is the fact that there is a fee involved. But I do consider this fee an investment. To find out about the fee involved in having your own internet radio station just visit the Live365's website to find out more!

There are many, many people that have their own internet radio station on Live365 and there is a message board where it is discussed about how people are making money with their stations. A lot of their internet radio station income comes from advertisers on the website page of the Internet station. A lot of them do production work for others as well. Some have even had news articles written about their stations and that is good publicity for them and their stations.

I have many more ideas about how I can "monetize" my internet station and I'm going to work on implementing them.

But if this sounds like something that you are interested in then you should definitely check it out!

Can You Make A Living From Blogging?

Again another very interesting article about being able to make a living by blogging!

I know a lot of people have often wondered if it was possible to be able to make a living from blogging and the answer is yes. But make no mistake - you definitely have to work at it!

According to The Adsense Consultant "almost any blog has the potential to make money regardless of what the topic is about!". In other words almost any blog has the potential to make money even if it is a blog by a single mother who is just trying to make some extra money all the way to a person who thinks that they have nothing to blog about. (How about starting a blog about having nothing to blog about? or how about starting a blog to complain about something that you don't like?) The possibilities are endless and even then they are only limited by your imagination!

So how do you make money with your blog? Well one of the best ways is to add Adsense ads to your blog. Again, here is a link to a blog post about how much some people have been making with adsense and the numbers will surprise you!

Of course adsense is not the only way to make money with your blog. You could start writing for another blog - there are lots of blogging jobs that are out there such as blogging for popular TV shows like "Ugly Betty".

There are also other Adsense-like programs out there although I'm only comfortahle with only a few of them! Ebay's Auction Ads seems like a very good prospect.

You can also get direct advertising for your blog and eliminate the middleman. For instance if your blog is about flowers then maybe you can get local flower shops to directly advertise on your blog in which they pay you directly to place advertising on your blog.

There have been some people that have gotten book deals because of their blogs! Others have given speeches and seminars and have even been asked to teach a class!

Of course I do realize that this will take some time but if you seriously want to be able to make money blogging then you are going to have to give it your time and effort!

Getting Paid For Answering Surveys Online - The Good, The Bad And The Ugly!

Here is an interesting website that someone told me about. You get paid for answering surveys. They give you $6 to signup. But you should be aware of some things. First off they have 2 payment options - you can either get paid via a check in the mail though it takes 4-6 weeks to get it or you can get paid via your Paypal account. That's why I thought of this forum because so many people that post here have a Paypal account. First let me tell you that you have to accumulate $75 before you can cash out and be forewarned that if you option to take the paypal option $25 will be deducted. So if you cash out at $75 and use the Paypal option then the company will take out a $25 fee and you will only get $50.

Now I did some research online and I found that the opinions of this program are about half and half. Some people complain about the program saying that they don't offer enough surves and there is are an equal number of people who have said that they have gotten their money.

So you can visit the site and decide for yourself. I joined it yesterday and managed to rake up $25 so far in my account so that means that I have another $50 dollars to go before I can cash out.

If any of you have a website or blog this program also has an affiliate program where you can add their banner to your site and you will get paid for those that sign up.

Now the reason I posted this here is because so many people have computers so taking a few minutes to make some money answering surveys does not seem like a bad thing. Also a lot of people here have posted that they have paypal accounts so why not make them work for you.

"It Takes Money To Make Money"

It may "take money to make money" but it doesn't necessarily have to be a lot of money!

Many people start their businesses small and then gradually expand their business.

I once helped someone with their upholstery business by putting flyers on parked cars and he actually got some calls and subsequent business from these flyers.

How much would it take for you to make some flyers? You can design them on your computer (and use some of the software that came with your computer)and either make your own copies or go to a copy story and have them do it for a nominal fee.

There are still a lot of people out there that think that they can't get a free website - which is absolutely untrue! There are quite a few free webhosting sites online where you can have your own website for free! You can also get a free blog as well because there are also a lot of free blog hosting sites out there as well.

Don't think that you can have a "professional" site if your site is on one of the free web hosting sites? Then tell that to the people that have their business websites on free hosting websites!

Writing Tag Lines For A Movie?

Well here is a very interesting article about a guy that writes taglines for movies. Basically you could call him a copywriter - at least that is how he started out.

Making Money Creating Taglines!

I think that it is a very interesting article. Reason number one is because the guy works for himself and not for anyone else. Number 2 he is very well paid for his work.

Quick Ways For College Students To Make Money

This is a blog post that I can't take credit for but it is a very good blog post about some good (and legitimate) ways that college students can make some quick money.

While I do a lot of grant reasearch and I do know that there are also a lot of scholarship programs out there for those that are looking for ways to help them financially while they try to continue their studies. There has been a lot of information in the news lately about student loans and how much they are and how much they cost. Some students find that they aren't able to pay their student loans once they graduate college. Other students have had to rely on student loan consolidation companies that help them with paying back their student loans.

So any way that a student can find to be able to legitimately make money both online and off is definitely information one should keep!

Some of the suggestions may surprise you. They are not "get rich quick" or "make money online" scams. They are legitimate ways that one can make money online.

Becoming A Model

I don't think it is an unrealistic goal to want to become a model. There are plus sized models and models shorter than 5 feet 4 inches tall. There are male models, older models and even disabled models.

You can even be a model if you are underaged as long as your parents give their permission.

Even though a lot of models have gotten their start by going to New York have you ever considered starting your modeling career in your own home town? You could model for clothing designers in your own home town. I have seen quite a few fashion shows on TV for my own local area so who is to say that there aren't any of these kinds of fashion shows in your own area? Do some checking around. Find the companies that are hiring models and check them out to see if they are legitimate. There is always at least one good lead that can lead you to a start in your modeling career.

If you can't find any modeling opportunities then MAKD YOUR OWN MODELING OPPORTUNITIES! What do I mean by that? Well do you have a webcam? Do you have a website? If you said yes to both of these questions then you could start your own modeling agency with yourself being the model. Take pictures of yourself modeling clothes and put those pictures online. You may not think that that is too much of a start but it is a start!

Treat your modeling agency as a professional modeling agency. Create business cards, flyers and other promotional materials - treat it professionally!

3 Business That One Can Start Now

I can't take credit for this because this came from an article that I read on another site.

It does have some very good ideas though.

What is interesting to note here that starting a desktop publishing business is another one of those kinds of business that have always been suggested as a good business to start. You would think that with all the desktop-type publishing programs that are already on one's computer that everybody does their own desktop publishing - but they don't. That is where YOU could come in - with your desktop publishing business.

Blogging Jobs Are Becoming VERY Popular

The Blogging Explosion!

There is just no other word for it! Blogging has become an explosive thing! While reading another blog, the topic of blogging jobs came up! Do you know that there are actual companies that will PAY you to blog for them? I have seen some of these "blogging" jobs posted and some of them are from TV shows. I saw one blogging job posted for the tv show "Ugly Betty"!

But it's not just tv shows that are looking for bloggers. There are companies and businesses that are looking for bloggers too but they don't have the staff that are experienced with blogging so that's where YOU can come in.

A Parent Having To Stay Home To Take Care Of Their Sick Child?

I saw a post from a woman who was asking about work at home opportunities so that she could work from home so she could be home to take care of her sick child. There are only a few legitimate work from home companies that I know of and I give that information to my clients when they are looking for such companies.

But when I saw this woman's post (I did reply to her with the same information that I'm putting here) I thought of some things that she could do so that she could be able to work from home.

My first thought was that she should start a blog and talk about how she has to stay at home and take care of a sick child. How many other parents are in the same position as her? Wouldn't they like to know about others that are in the same predicament as they are? If she started a blog about her experiences with having to take care of a sick child she could add adsense ads to her blog in order to be able to make some money with her blog. Now you may think of this as commercializing one's bad situation but why not take a bad situation and turn it into a better situation? The "power" of blogs is growing and there are so many different types of blogs out there on so many different topics and subjects. Just think about it. Here you have someone who wants to (if not has to) stay at home and be able to look after their sick child. What better a way to work at home then to start a business about the one thing that you are passionate about and in this case that is being able to take care of your sick child.

First of all having a blog will let people from all around the world be able to see it and of those that do see it there may be some that are faced with the same situation that she is going through. You can start a free blog at Blogger.com. Start writing (or should I say typing) in it. Once you have a few entries in your blog you can then apply for adsense - which is also free. Once your blog is approved by adsense you can then get the codes to put on your blog so that you can start making money when visitors to your blog click on the ads. But more than that you will have an outlet for what it is you are trying to do. Of course besides starting a blog ANY parent should look for and find any grant programs that may be able to help them. But in the meantime with the blog you will at least be starting to earn an income if you have adsense ads on them. If you need help with your blog or help with trying to start one or help with trying to optimize your blog for more adsense earnings, I suggest that you take a look at The Adsense Consultant's Blog.

Having a blog can branch you out into other opportunities as well that are directly related to your blog. A lot of people have gotten book deals because of their blogs. Some have gotten direct advertisers for their blog who will pay a lot more than adsense to advertise on your blog. This parent could blog about the difficulties there are in having to have to stay home and take care of a sick child. They can write about the lack of available help for other parents in this type of situation. She can even branch her blog out and start to create her own newsletter about parents who have to take care of a sick child. She could accept advertising for this newsletter. She could charge a fee to subscribe to the newsletter. She could also print out hard copies of her newsletter to give to people who don't have access to a computer. - Thus a career (and business) is born!

Have You Ever Thought Of Starting Your Own Music Label?

I got an email from an aspiring singer who wanted help in spreading the word about her music. She does have a myspace page. But it did get me to thinking about how one could start their own record label.

Many of the famous rap stars have started their own labels and they do it from the comfort of their own home! Now you may not have to the money to buy sophisticated equipment but you have some good tools right in front of you if your computer is relative new. You could record your songs and put them to CD and distribute/sell those CDs. Besides being a singer or musician you would also be a producer. You could get an internet radio station like mine and promote your own music! You could also create your own podcast for free and promote your own music.

"I Want To Become A Webcam Model"

I Want To Become A Webcam Model

Like I have said many times before: Sex Sells!

I guess that's why so many people are looking online to find out how they can become a webcam model. How do I know this? Because someone did a search for I Want To Become A Webcam Model on google and a link to my blog showed up on the first page of google's search engine results. That's my blog showing up on page one of over 2 Million other links!

What's the lure of becoming a webcam model? Why do so many people (even males) want to become a webcam model? Maybe its just the lure of being able to make a lot of money in the privacy of one's own home. And guess what? No matter what your type there is probably a market out there for it! I have seen where a woman in her 70's runs a very successful website featuring herself and her webcam - so if you think that nobody would be interested in seeing you then you are probably wrong!

So what does it take to become a sucessful webcam model? Well the more customers you have the more money you can potentially make. You can either set up your own webcam model site or you can join a site that will take care of the "business side" of it for you. And there are many of these webcam model sites where you can join and be a part of a bigger group.

Or you can set up a site of your own. About the biggest hurdles you will face is finding a place that will process payments for you. Like I have said in other posts Paypal doesn't allow for payments of an adult nature so you will have to find another way to process your payments. But with all of the different webcam model sites out there by individuals there must be companies that will process credit card payments for you.

You will also have to have a hosting site that will allow for adult material. There are some of those kinds of sites out there - both free sites and paid sites.

If you decide to go it alone you will need a webcam and a website. You will also have to get the word out about your new site. The more people that know about your site the more money you can potentially make.

You also have a lot of other resources available to you such as netmeeting, chats, "widgets" where people can leave you messages and a lot more resources as well.

If I haven't said it before then I will say it again!

SEX SELLS!

Update 8/27/12 - This seems to be a very popular blog post as I am getting a lot of replies and a lot of them are from those who are trying to advertise / spam my blog. Like I said, this is a very popular blog post and people are responding with links to websites where there are still a lot of people that claim to be making money online with their webcam.

What If You Wanted To Be A Fashion Designer?

I have to change that title to:

What If You Wanted To Be A SUCCESSFUL Fashion Designer?

Well if you are starting from scratch one of the best things that you should do is get some designs created. Once you have designed some clothing take a picture of them and put them online on your own website or blog. As I have said many times before you can get a free website and a free blog.

You also should try to sell your fashion designs on Ebay.

Of course let's not overlook all the things that you can do offline as well.

Design a business card. Design a flyer. Distribute both whenever and where ever you can!

Also I am aware of some grant programs that you should apply for if you are seeking funding to start your fashion design business.

What people don't seem to be aware of is that you have a lot of resources at hand to help you achieve the dreams that you desire.

Instead of complaining what you can't do, be grateful for the things that you CAN do!

A Question Of Money!

A lot of people want to work from home but the big question is the question of money.

How soon you make money is going to depend on you!

If you are going to quit your job then hopefully you will have some money saved to help support you for at least a year - but I know that a lot of people don't plan for that.

How about continuing to work, saving money while you start your business on a part time basis?

People seem to be looking for ways to work at home but they want to make money as soon as possible. Now I have mentioned Google's Adsense program as a great way to make money but you are not going to make any adsense money for at least 30 days and that is going to depend on how well your website or blog is doing.

I'm beginning to think that this is one of the reasons why so many people want to be able to work for a company while they work at home because they feel that the company will pay them first. I only know of 2 such companies that I would recommend as good work from home companies and I recommend them to all of my clients that want to know about them. But other than that I haven't found any other legitimate work at home companies. If you know of any and you think it would benefit people to know about them then you can post your comments about them.

Read About Someone Who Really Works From Home (besides me-LOL!)

Here is a very good example of someone who works from home.

She describes it as a telecommuting job - something that a lot of people want to be able to do. She has been with this company for a while and sometimes that is one of the requirements of being able to have a telecommuting job.

Working for a company that you have been an employee of is far better than applying for a telecommuting job at a company where you have never worked before.

But at least this is a good example of someone who actually has a telecommuting job who works from home.

A Myspace "Expert"?

I was at Myspace and an idea hit me! There are a lot of famous celebrities that have myspace pages however I'm quite sure that they don't maintain the pages themselves - they have other people do it for them. That is where YOU could come in. You can advertise and promote yourself as a Myspace expert. What makes one a Myspace expert? Someone that has a myspace page which they maintain and have maintained for a while - you can then consider yourself a myspace expert.

But its not just celebrities that may need your expertise. What about those professional organizations, including businesses that are just too busy to work and maintain their myspace page? Myspace has become hugely popular as a great site to network in and that is why there are so many different varieties of people, businesses and organizations that have (or would like to have) a myspace page.

A good way to let the world know that you are a Myspace expert/consultant is to tell them. Create a website, design some flyers and pass them around and don't forget to make business cards and pass them around.

Do You Have Your Own Ministry?

I used to work at a gospel music station back in the 80's and 90's - things have changed a lot since then. BTW here is a link to my Internet Radio Station:

LaMott Radio

However there are a lot of people (both men and women) that have their own ministries and there are lots of things that they can do to help bring more attention to their ministries.

Like I mentioned above I have an Internet Radio Station so why can't you have one for your own ministry? You will reach a more wider audience because the Internet is all over the world and open 24/7! Now there is a fee with having your own internet radio station and you are going to have to decide whether the cost will be worth it. (I made my decision that having my own Internet Radio Station was well worth the cost!)

But there is a way to have your own broadcast without having to pay a fee for it. All you have to do is start your own podcast. You can record your ministy teachings and include contact information for others to reach you. Put up a corresponding webpage and add Paypal so that you can get donations. Put an online version of your ministry on the Internet. some ministries may have qualms about having Adsense on their sites but if you don't this is another great way to earn revenue from your website or blog.

And since I mentioned blogs - Does your ministry have a blog? If not is should! If for no other reason than other people from all over the world being able to see and read it!

There are so many ideas for increasing your ministry's income and with the Internet the number of those ideas just go on and on and on and on!

Finding A Job At Age 53?

Someone was doing a search for this and I'm guessing that at age 53 they are out of work and looking for a job.

It's really a shame to see all the companies that are laying off workers - workers who have been at that job for over 10 years - and now they are being layed off.

Well there are two ways to go when looking for a job - regardless of what your age is:

Number one is finding a job where you work for someone else. There is just no way around applying to every place that you can. Put in a job application at every place that you can. Be ready for those job interviews when they come up. Have your resume ready. And if time passes and you still haven't gotten a job guess what you have to do? APPLY AGAIN! That's right - start the whole process all over again! Remember until you find a job, finding a job IS your job!

Number 2 is working for yourself. If you have recently been layed off hopefully you have some money saved while you're able to start your own business. I know that there are a number of grant programs that are out there to help you finance starting your own business.

What kind of business could you start? What kind of business would you like to start? Can you do yard work, babysitting, daycare or start a cleaning business? These have been suggested as good businesses to start because there is always a need for such services.

101 Ways To Make Money Online

Something else I wish that I could take the credit for but I can't!

This is a ginormous list of different ways to make money online. I especially like the end of the article where the author said that he was tired of everyone asking him how he was making money online so that is why he made the list.

You're going to laugh at a few of them. Some of them are downright unethical and some of them are just pure genius! You should be able to find at least one or two things on this list that you can use to start making money online. A lot of the things suggested on the list are quite simple and quite easy to do. I especially like the one that says to become an expert at something.

Everybody has a genius in them - no matter what other people say. You could be an expert at something right now but don't know it!

Single Mothers That Want To Stay At Home

There's nothing wrong with wanting to be able to stay at home and work from home - especially if you are a single mother that wants to be able to stay home with her kids.

While I have seen a lot of "work-at-home opportunities" being advertised I know of only 2 that I really trust. These two companies let you work from home using your computer and your phone. A lot of their workers are disabled people who welcome the chance to be able to work from home and be able to earn income from a work at home job. Both companies let you work from home answering calls. They are the only two companies that I would recommend if you wanted to work from home. They don't offer benefits but at least you would be able to choose your own hours. Also too, these companies don't work in every state so you have to check and see if they are available in your area.

I am more for one starting their own business as opposed to working for someone else but a lot of single mothers just fear that they don't know or don't have a skill that they can use to work from home.

Then there is the question of money and getting paid. A lot of people feel more secure if they work for a company - that way their income is guarenteed. The problem is finding a company that will let you work from home.

There are many single mothers who have started their own work at home businesses. What kind of businesses have they started? How about starting your own daycare business? As a single mom you surely know how hard it is to get daycare and how even harder it is to get affordable daycare.

Some people don't like this suggestion because it involves a lot of work. I have seen some single women (and mothers) start their own webcam business. This is not a business for everyone but it is a business that you can start with little money. If you already have the computer, webcam and Internet access then you are already well on your way. Webcam models make a lot of money! And they make a lot more money when they work for theirselves as opposed to working for someone else.

A lot of people have managed to start a successful business buying and selling on Ebay.

If you are thinking about wanting to start your own business and want to run your idea past me then you can post a comment to see what I have to say.

How Much Profit Will I Make Running A Daycare?

That is totally going to depend on YOU!

The very first thing that you should have is a business plan. It doesn't have to be a complicated business plan. You can download simple templates off the internet or you can go to the library or bookstore to find examples of business plans.

With your business plan you can determine how much money you would have to make in order to turn a profit. You take your assests and subtract your expenses and that would give you your profit.

Most of your income will come from how much you charge per child. People who want to start their own daycare often ask the question of how much they should charge for daycare. This is a simple answer to find out if you are willing to do some checking/researching online.

You can also have income from other sources relating to your daycare. How about putting up a website and accepting advertising? What about putting up a blog and accepting advertising - especially from Adsense!

There are just so may other ways to generate revenue. Like the wise ones have said - you are only limited by your imagination!

Let's Face It - Sex Sells!

A visitor got to my website because they were looking for information on how to start their own porn site. If you scroll down a few entries you will see a video from Ron Jeremy talking about how the Internet (and digital cameras/vcrs) have made it easier for people to start their own adult web sites.

Even if you didn't want to go that far there are still ways that you can make money. For instance I have a business plan called Business Plan XXX. It's a business plan for those that want to start their own online business by looking at sex sites. More information about this Business Plan XXX appears on my consultation page.

A lot of people are looking for information about how they can become a webcam model, how much money can one make by becoming a webcam model and so on.

It doesn't take much to start your own webcam model site. One of the biggest problems that you are going to have is to find a domain host that will let you put adult-oriented stuff on the Internet. But since there are so many sex sites on the Internet then there must be at least some webhosts that will let you put adult-oriented stuff up on the Internet.

Another big problem you will face is how you will be able to take payments. Paypal doesn't allow for payments of a sex related transaction. You may have to join a merchant card account that will let you accept these kinds of payments. These shouldn't be too hard for you to find if you do a simple search for the information.

A lot of people seem to think that there is easy money in being a webcam model and the fact of the matter is that this is true!

If You Are A Writer Would You Like A Publishing Contract?

Are you a writer? Have you written any stories - short stories, romantic stories, horror stories? How would you like to get a publishing contract? Does that sound good to you? Do you think its impossible for you to get a publishing contract? First of all you have to have faith and belief in yourself as a writer. You should also have some writing that you have already done to your credit - whether its published or not!

Did you know that there are writing contests? Did you know that some of these writing contests offer the winner a publishing contract? That could be you!

Did you know that the woman that wrote the hugely successful Harry Potter books got a writing grant? Did you know that she was a single mother who was living on welfare at one point? Originally she wrote the stories for her children.

There are definitely a lot of writing-related contests that you should be looking into but I do realize that there are a lot of contests out there that are a scam. Number one avoid entering contests where you have to pay to enter the contest. There are plenty of contests around that don't charge you a fee for entering. Number 2 the more famous the name sponsoring the contest the more better it should make you feel.

So go ahead and start looking for those legitimate writing contests - you could get a publishing contract out of it!

Would You Like To Get Paid Answering Surveys?

This information comes to you courtesy of The Adsense Consultant.

This website pays you for answering surveys online. I joined it yesterday and have already accumulated over $20 in my account. So I have a ways to go before I reach the minimum cash out amount of $75. You can get paid either by regular check or via your Paypal account but be forewarned that if you opt to get paid via your Paypal account they will deduct $25 doolars. So if you cash out at $75 you will only get $50.

They also have an affiliate program where you will get paid for those that you refer to their site and those people sign up. You get about $1 per referrel signup and that amount will be added to your account so you may reach the $75 limit sooner if you provide a lot of signups.

So you can visit the site to see if its something that you may be interested in.

Your Daycare Business

I do a lot of research work finding grant programs that clients are eligible to apply for and it just occurred to me that they can be so much more involved in running your own daycare business.

Did you know that lots of daycare businesses have a website? Why would they need a website? The better question is why doesn't YOUR daycare have a website? If anything it is good PR for your daycare business. Even if you just have the most basic information on your website that's a good start. You can sign up for a free webpage at one of the free webhosting sites. Add simple things like an email address and you have the means for visitors to your site to send you email. Include your website address on your business cards and on all of your daycare business-related literature - including your invoices. I saw one daycare business that has a website and that website includes webcam pictures of the children at play. Think of how comforting it would be for parents if they could go online and see how their children are doing!

It Seems That I'm Not The Only Person Working This Fourth Of July Holiday

I really have to learn to watch that! It's a nice day today - nice and breezy - so I have the windows open and I can smell the barbecues going on! But I can also hear some of the workers next door sawing and cutting and just doing some general work on a house.

Mind you I'm not ALL work and no play but it does seem that I'm working more lately.

Becoming A WebCam Model - It Seems To Be A Popular Topic!

It seems more and more people are interested in becoming a webcam model. I was checking some of my stats today and this seems to be a very popular topic!

There is one website that offers - I'm assuming women - the chance to take a video of themselves dancing to music. Then they upload the video to the website and they make a commission on it. Sounds simple enough doesn't it? But you could take this one step further and instead of having a "middleman" you can just upload your "sexy dancing" video to a website of your own! You could even take "special requests" via email, tape your video and then send it via email. I know that this sounds similar to YouTube but I don't think you can earn the money if you use YouTube (unless you use it as a "teaser" kind of thing. There is still the question of how you would take payment as Paypal doesn't allow for payment for things of a sexual nature. But there are some processing sites online that specifically cater to "adult" transactions. The website also goes on to say that this kind of thing would be a good supplemental income for those that dance professionally - yes I mean strippers, strip tease artists and the like.

Personally I have always been an advocate of one starting their own business as opposed to working for someone else but there are those that like having the security of working for someone else that handles the details. But the more control you have the more money you will make!

Golf?

I just got finished posting on my Grant Basics 101 blog about a grant program for non-profit organizations that help encourage the sport of playing golf. If you don't know it the golfing industry is a billion dollar industry! But it got me to thinking about this blog.

If you have an interest in golf you can turn that into a career too! The most obvious way is to start a blog about your golfing interests. Add Adsense ads to your blog and accept ads from various golf-related advertisers. You can also start your own podcast - just like having your own golf talk show - and add golf-related advertisers. You can supplement this by having an offline newsletter relating to golf and you can have an online version of your offline newsletter - or visa versa!

I want to repeat that the golf industry is a billion dollar industry and if you can tap into that you are well on your way!

105 Service Businesses to Start Today

Another piece of information that I can't take credit for but it is a very, very good blog post!

Some of the businesses on this list are ones that I have often recommended like starting your own pet service where you either pet-sit for other people's pets or provide a dog-walking service. I even remember seeing an ad in my local paper for a pet pooper scooper service!

A lot of other businesses on this list have to do with providing repairs on different types of things - like starting a sewing alteration business or providing repairs for household items.

If you take a good look at the list you may find something that you are very good at - good enough at to start your business with!

Doggie Daycare?

Did you know that doggie daycare is a booming business? Here is a link to an article that explains about it further.

Many times I have mentioned that starting a dog-walking business would be a good business to start because there is always a need for such services. Unfortunately as much as I would like to take credit for this idea I saw somebody else suggest it.

Starting a doggie daycare business is even better. People are working so much and a lot of them don't like leaving their dogs home alone for such long periods of time. I'm sure that you would have enough customers who wouldn't mind having their dogs looked after and have their dogs in an environment where there are other dogs around them.

If you love dogs this would be a great business for you to start!

Can't Find A Job? Then Make One Up!

I was kind of in shock when I first heard this statement. I have since come to find out that this is a very good statement. In years past my mother was a nurse and my father worked at the post office - both the kind of jobs that they had for life!

Nowadays it is much harder to keep a job for life. Time and time again you hear on the news about another big company or plant either closing its doors or firing a large number of employees.

People "make jobs up" all the time. What about the person that wants to open up their own restaurant? Clearly there are more than enough restaurants out there already - right? But yet and still people are opening up new ones. What about the people that want to be clothes designers and have their own fashion line? Surely you have seen that there are no lack of clothing designs on the market today but yet and still these people create new clothing lines.

I know a lot of people are thinking "but what kind of job can I make up?" Well what is it that you like to do? What is your dream job?" What if you don't know what your "dream job" is? There are 2 ways to make money. The fastest way is to find a need and fill it. Look around your neighbor hood. Is there a need there? Could you start a babysitting business? What about starting your own daycare business? What about starting your own yard work business? All of these kinds of jobs are ones that have been advised as good businesses to start because there are always a need for these services. Where I live the guys that do yard work are always busy! One told me that he had more work than he could handle!

The 2nd way (and I think its the best of the two) is to take something that you love and turn it into a business. One of the reasons that I got into grant research is because of all the negative information about it. I did some research of my own and found out that there are many grant programs out there for individuals. Some of these grant programs are just begging for applicants! The people that say that there are no grant programs out there for people who want to start their own business are wrong. The people who have called me a scam either don't want to pay to be clients or they have just gotten frustrated by all the information that has to be weeded through and some of them just don't want to do the work.

So if there is something that you love to do or if there is something that is your dream job don't you think that you owe it to yourself to make your dreams a reality? No matter what kind of job it is there is probably someone somewhere doing what it is that you want to do (or doing something close to it) and they are making a good living at it!

Being A Webcam Model?

No sooner do I post a blog entry about being (or becoming) a webcam model do I see a tv show talking about women who earn their living as webcam models. They are a diverse group of women. One has a teenage son who knows what his mother is doing but that is ALL he wants to know. Another woman has her parents as partners in her webcam business - if you can imagine that! Her father does the business side and her mother does the production side.

Their stories are very interesting. One woman said that she was a dental assistant but she felt burned out and wanted to try something else.

So being a webcam model is not as unusual as one would think. It is a simple enough thing to do as long as you have a webcam, a website and having a microphone while not mandatory would be a good thing to have. A lot of these woman use an online service so they don't have to worry about the details. All they have to do is get people to view their webcam and chat with them. I heard one woman say that she earned $1,000 in one night! Other women - who want to eliminate the middle man - choose to host their own sites and webcam page. *One thing I should tell you is that Paypal will not let you do transactions of a sexual nature. But there are alternative ways of accepting payments from clients/customers.

Beside the women that are webcam models there were other women featured in the story. One woman satisfies men that have a foot fetish. (If you don't know what that means I'm not going to tell you). Another woman was a legitimate sex therapist who helps people who have sexual problems. Her clients are referred to her from psychotherapists.

So whether you want to admit it or not - sex sells!

It's true! Webcam models can make a lot of money and come from many different backgrounds. I myself just started webcam modeling several weeks ago for a great website that even gives me bonuses if I make a certain amount. Webcam modeling can be hard, but as a college student, I have found that this is one of the most profitable things I have ever done. True, you can make up to $1000/night, but it's highly rare. I am not extremely good looking and I make about $18-$30/hr. Pretty good, huh?

If you're interested in becoming a web model, I have found this website to be the most profitable compared to other sites around:

Ron Jeremy

Ron Jeremy has always fascinated me so. Just in case you don't know who he is he was a very famous porn star (and enough said about that!)

What fascinates me about him is that he is still trying to break into mainstream movies. Apparently because of his porn past he has a hard time being cast in the more mainstream movies. However he has consulted on the movies "9 1/2 Weeks" and "Boogie Nights"

I find this fascinating considering the fact that Traci Lords has managed to break into mainstream movies and Ron Jeremy has not. But he keeps trying though!

On the video below, Ron Jeremy talks about how easier it is becoming to be a webcam star! And since I get soooooo many emails with people asking how they can be webcam models or start an adult webcam business then who better to hear than an actual porn star himself!

Keep Going

I saw a very inspirational segment of a show. A man wanted to start his own restaurant and his partner was 100% behind him. He didn't have much experience as a cook and he went to cooking school but didn't have much experience after that. But he decided that he wanted to open his own restaurant. He found the location in a run down property that used to be a crackhouse. He was given 2 months free rent and he was on his way to (as he put it) fulfilling his dreams. Now he didn't have a business plan but still he was determined. How did he pay for the restaurant? Well his partner helped and there was this little method that he used which I'm not going to repeat here because its something that is really recommended as not a good thing to do. He had a lot of friends help and pitch in with the construction and building work. Of course he had to get the permits and licenses that were necessary to open the restaurant plus he managed to get a small business loan for around $15,000 - that's not a lot but just tell that to him and he will probably tell you where to go!

Like I mentioned before he didn't have a lot of professional experience as a cook but he wanted one of his teachers from his cooking class to taste his food - food that he was going to include as part of the menu of his new restaurant. While the teacher liked the food for the most part he did say that he didn't think that the guy was ready to open a restaurant. In fact a lot of people felt the same way. Guess what? He still decided to open the restaurant and guess what? He did!

I saw this story and it just reminded me of the advice that I have seen from others and that advice is to keep going. You gotta keep going no matter what others say. If you feel it in your heart then that is all that matters!

Do you want to be a writer that gets paid?

Well first of all I think that one of the best ways to start making money is with Google's Adsense program. Create a blog or website and add the Adsense ads and you can start making money as soon as visitors to your site clicks on the ads.

And this advice also goes to all of you who are aspiring writers. Why not put up a blog and put your writing on it? I have seen many writer and writing-related blogs online so its not like you would be the first one.

Back in the day a writer was either "discovered" by a publishing company or a writer submitted their work somewhere and got published and got well known. I'm not saying that such a thing couldn't happen today but at least you have more options today than you had back them.

One thing I would advise every aspiring writer to do is to get a copy of The Writer's Market Handbook. I believe that this book is an absolutely "must have"! Consider it an investment! If you don't have enough money to buy a copy of the book then you should check and see if your local library has a copy. This book lists the different publishers and what kinds of submissions that they are looking for in almost every writing genre that you could imagine! It also provides some very good tips and advice concerning copyrights and how you should submit your submissions as far as how you work should look.

I should also mention that since I do a lot of grant research I know that there are many grant programs out there that are writing and writer-related. Did you know that the woman who wrote the Harry Potter books (and who now has more money than the Queen of England) received a grant early in her writing career?

If that doesn't motivate or inspire you I don't know what will!
