Never Give Up?

I just posted on my Foreclosure 101 Blog about a family that managed to save their home from foreclosure by putting up a website and asking for donations! (So far they have received over $10,000 in donations!)

While this is very good news some things in the article stood out to me. The first was that the mother had said that she was determined that foreclosure of her home was NOT going to happen! She had made up her mind and she had made it come true!

The second thing was the mere fact that they had put up a website to ask for donations - which is something that I have talked a lot about in this blog!

Personally I was very dis-heartened when AOL discontinued its webpage hosting for its members (which I am one of!) but there are still hosting sites online where you can put up a website for free! There is also still Blogger.com where you can create a blog for free as well!

I highly applaud this family's effort and I hope it encourages everyone that where there is a will there is a way!

Nice to see your blog up and running. It's amazing how much junk you come across when you google "work at home blogs"..your blog is the first "real" blog I've found so far!

That is really cool. I love it when people think outside the box. But, I have to admit . . . I would not like to see a million new websites asking to for my support to prevent foreclosures . . .

WOW - $10k in donations. I wonder if this would work for putting the kids through college?

I'm serious.

On another note, the fact that the lady was DETERMINED with a capital D probably is what made the difference.

Good for her.

Many people would just SAY they were going to do it but not really do it. She followed through.

To: Mike

I think you hit the nail on the head when you mentioned the word determination!

What's that saying - When the going gets tough the tough get going......

I should also mention that there was a guy who needed money to help pay his way through college so he decided to set up a web site where people could buy advertising space and he made a million dollars with it! It got to the point where he had to prove to paypal that the money that he was getting was legit!

So if you are determined then give it a try!

Yes, I also love hearing stories like that. It gives much needed inspiration and motivation to those that need it and hopefully it will show people that they should never give up and where there is a will there is a way!

The story abut the family sounds very reminiscent of Obama's fundraising strategy. 8-)

This example is inspiring. It reminds us that when people are in need, then the world offers solutions. We simply need to open our eyes and recognize options exist.

Wow it's great to see that people were willing to shell out 10,000 to help this family. Thanks for the positive story!

I'm really happy for her. That's awesome! I actually thought about doing that to try to get my abcessed teeth fixed that the dentist said is going to cost me around $13000. I just don't know how to get that started and I really hate asking anyone for anything. Anyway i'm glad to see she didn't lose her home.

You really should take a look at my Grants Related site that talks about different kinds of grant programs that are out relating to medical need.

Don't just accept that it can't be done. Do something about it!

Have you considered the fact that this might work another way? I am wondering if anyone else has come across something
similar in the past? Let me know your thoughts...

I don't know what you mean by it "working another way"? Could you elaborate more on your question because I'm not understanding it.
